I think this natural response on your part worked out very effectively. Jude saw that what he did literally hurt and that it made you sad when he told you it made him happy. It was a good lesson for him. He is maturing emotionally.

At least he is trying to get support from outside the family. I will be glad when the diaper days are done. I remember thinking when the day would come when you and your brother would be potty trained. The money I was gonna save not having to buy diapers… haven’t seen it yet.
